Das Hebopfer/ der heilige Bezirk

Some people think the measurements of the heave offering is 25 000 reeds not 25 000 cubits. Have you already measured this out on a map of the holy land? From Ezekiel we know that the land in the east and the west of the heave offering will belong to the king of Israel and his sons. It is so much that there is no need to occupy land of the tribes of Israel (Ezekiel 46,16).

Keine Ellen, sondern Ruten? So funktioniert es nicht!

Cubits no Reeds

Measure it out! 25 000 reeds will be about 80 km. The longest distance between Jordan River the border of Ezekiel 47,13 and the Mediterranean Sea is about 88 km. 80 km from the Dead Sea in the north the land has only a width of approx. 65 km. As you can see a square of 80 x 80 km does not fit in this land. The King and his sons will get a very, very small part. Maybe a part of the sea?

Some think if the Heave offering will be cubits the amount of Land for the King in the west and the east will be too large. They cant believe that the Heave offering given to God will be less than the part for the King.

Really it will be large but we forget the King in future will be the son of David the Messiah. The Land is dedicated to him and "his sons".
Or do you think Aschdod will be his part? There are no positive prophecies for Aschdod (Zechariah 9:6; Zef 2:4)!

Don’t you think it is better to calculate with a amount of 25 000 cubits?

An Offering of Land

Another markable fact if you count with cubits is the amount of the heave offering.
If you measure it out you will also see that a square of 25 000 cubits is 1/6 part of the Kings land which is the offering of wheat mentioned in Ezekiel 45:13

25 000 x 25 000 cubits  is about 12,5 km x 12,5 km = 156,25 km² (156,25km² x 6 = 937,5 km²)

The complete amount of the King is about 1000 km² and 950 km² without Aschdod and Aschkelon.
I got these scales by studying the map of Israel. Test it!

The Heave offering is also 1/200 part of the sheep of Israel- sorry the part of the whole Land of the 12 tribes (Ezekiel 45,13):
25 000 x 25 000 cubits  is about 12,5 km x 12,5 km = 156,25 km² (156,25km² x 200 = 31.250 km²)
Where do I get these numbers from?
I tried to draw the borders as mentioned in Ezekiel 47:13ff and measured the amount of the whole Land. The result was about 31 465,42 km².
If you want details let me know.

The Ariel

The ariel of the altar has an dimension of 12 cubits. With our factor of 50 we will have the length of the temple in the heave offering: 600 cubits. But isn’t the length of the whole place of the temple 500 cubits? Yes but there is a space around it counting 50 cubits. So we have 600 cubits at all.

Isn’t this an explanation why the measurements and the description of the temple are that important?
Remember: the Ariel in the court of the temple and the temple in the Heave offering are on the same position- in the centre.

The new Jerusalem

Now let’s talk about the holy town Jerusalem. It has grown into a big town. As read in Zechariah 14:10 old town Jerusalem will never move. We have the dimensions of the old town of Jerusalem also in Jeremiah 31:38. Special borders are the whole valley Ben Hinnom and the fields near the brook Kidron. The part of the town mentioned in the heave offering with its 4 500/ 5 000 cubits will fit the old town including Ben Hinnom and Kidron.
If you believe in reeds there won't be no need to mention these valleys.
This is the town with its 12 gates. It's the old town of Jerusalem. The whole town Jerusalem will be the heave offering of 25 000 x 25 000 cubits which is approximately the range of Jerusalem today (about 12,5 km). As written in Zechariah 2:8 no wall will surround Jerusalem.
Jerusalem in Jerusalem? It is mentioned in Zechariah 12:6.
And God will live in in the midst in the centre of the big town Jerusalem.
